Every year the charity Project Front Foot approach us asking for donations of unwanted cricket kit. The appeal is a little earlier this year as they want to do more work in this country and Europe with refugee groups. They aim to get refugees playing cricket by the start of the season in May so your donations of clothing and kit and needed now. They would be happy to arrange collection so it could not be easier to get rid of clutter and help a great cause.
This is what they said,"Projects include supporting a cricket programme in Croydon run by the British Refugee Council for displaced Afghan teenagers. In late Autumn we had kit go to the La Rochelle region in western France to support a community of Afghan refugees. Both of these require on-going support.
Madrid CC contacted me a while back with an idea of joining forces to take kit to refugee camps in Serbia and Bosnia. This could be our first road trip of the summer.
I'm also investigating the chance of setting up a cricket school for young refugee kids. A little like what we had going in Mumbai. Not just kit, but with the chance for me to do some coaching.
A little closer to home, I've heard of a charity project in Colchester who might be interested in what we have to offer." Vic - PFF
They require all types of kit from helmets to boots and in all children and adult sizes.
