The ECB's Plan for Woman & Girls Cricket
In October 2019 the ECB published their ambitious plan to increase participation in woman & girls cricket substantially over the next five years. This promises tremendous benefits for those clubs who embrace the plan. Please contact Alex Murphy of the Yorkshire Cricket Board who would be happy to arrange a meeting with a representative of your club. Please click on the plan below for more information.
These are currently being held every Monday at the Cricket Asylum at a cost of £5.00 per session and take place between 6:30pm and 8:00pm.
Lightcliffe have a vibrant ladies cricket team run and new players are always made most welcome. For more information please contact anyone of the following:
After the success of in recent years, Blackley Ladies will again be meeting for practice on Sunday mornings at 10.00 - 12.00, starting on Sundays in May.
The current squad range from 16 to 60 in age, and we would be pleased to welcome a few more players.
If you are interested, please feel free to contact Steve Williams on 07752 762688 for more information, visit the Blackley website at Blackleycc or simply join us on a Sunday morning at 10.00. No equipment is necessary, and tracksuit and trainers are the dress-code (although a couple of cricket jumpers would not go amiss on the colder mornings !)
The girls team at Copley continues to progress and have been training all winter at the Asylum in Sowerby Bridge. We have girls ranging from 9 to 16 years. With the ability to accommodate all levels from beginner to experienced.
We play in the Heavy Woolen League against like minded clubs with an annual festival as the last game of the season which is always a great day.
Over the years we have had many players play for West Yorkshire and Yorkshire teams as well as having strong links with the 2 senior ladies teams in Calderdale, those being Blackley and Lightcliffe. The many girls that have played for the ladies teams really enjoy these games and are made to feel welcome.
