Schools Cricket & Competitions

Calderdale has for the first time, in the 2017/2018 school year, held some indoor competitions for Junior and infant schools. Providing children as young as 6 an opportunity to take part. The Cricket Asylum has offered their facilities for free, so children can enjoy these events.

These competitions were organised for just before Christmas to encourage children to join clubs running winter training, and again just before Easter to encourage children to join clubs before the start of the Season.
Please let Alexandra Murphy know your training details so she can pass these on to the schools taking part.
The summer Competitions are planned for 2018 and are to be held at

Elland – U9's 5th June
Copley – girls u11's 6th June
TBC – U11's 7th June (any club wanting to volunteer their ground for this would be greatly appreciated)

If you are available on any of these days to help with umpiring and scoring, your help would be really appreciated. We have in the past had schools help, and unfortunately children arrive not knowing the game or rules.

If you are wanting to grow your junior section at U11's or under why not run a festival day, where as a club you work with Alexandra to run a competitions day, your local schools would be invited, and with your help in umpiring and scoring we can introduce lots of children to your club and coaches.

2018 Also has the added help for All Stars Centres with Assemblies and taster sessions at your local schools, the school receives free sessions with an assembly promoting your centre.

Senior Schools competitions are running again with the finals being held at Headingley in February and March.
