Nominations are now open for the YCB's 2017 Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards......
For this year we have introduced a separate application form for the ECB national awards which includes the criteria by which these awards are assessed. The Yorkshire winners for these awards (Young Volunteer, Heartbeat of the Club, Get the Game On, Nat West Cricket Force, Leagues, Lifetime Achiever, and Officiating) will go forward to the national awards ceremony at Lords in October. Similarly, the Coach award winners for Outstanding Contribution and Services to Cricket Coaching; Coach of the Year; and Young Coach will go forward as Yorkshire's nominations for the for Sky Sports national awards.
The following web link has further details on all the award categories. These cover coaches, umpires, ground staff, scorers, administrators, women & girls, disability cricket, families, BME, partnerships, volunteering, getting the game on, lifetime achievers, contributions to leagues and more:
All candidates shortlisted for an award will be invited, with guest, to our awards event at Headingley Stadium on the afternoon of Sunday 23rd July. Those attending will invited to stay on as our guests to watch the Yorkshire T20 Blast game against Worcestershire, which we hope will make it a memorable day for all those who make the shortlist.
OSCAs are an important means by which cricket recognises and rewards the essential voluntary work given by the many individuals within the recreational game. If you feel someone is worthy of an award, please do nominate them. If you are not sure of the category to nominate, you can indicate a few options and our assessment panel will do the rest.
The closing date for nominations is Friday 23rd June.
If you have any further queries about the awards, do not hesitate to contact either Graham Purdy (0113 2033 689) or Jane Hildreth at the YCB Offices (0113 203 3668).
